Frequently asked questions
We answer your questions
Can foreigners buy property in Costa Rica?
Yes. Foreigners can buy titled property with the same rights as Costa Ricans, no residency required. All you need is a valid passport. We guide you through the whole process, in English or Spanish.
How long does the buying process take?
A typical purchase takes 4 to 6 weeks: title search, deed drafting, signing before a notary and registration in the National Registry. With bank financing the timeline can extend a bit.
What additional costs should I consider?
Besides the price, budget for closing costs (transfer tax, stamps and notary fees), which together are around 4% to 5% of the property value. We give you a clear breakdown before signing.
How do you verify the properties you sell?
Before listing a property we run a full title search: we verify the deed, that there are no liens or annotations, the cadastral survey and the tax status. You buy with confidence.
Do you offer financing options?
Several of our properties accept bank financing or direct payment arrangements with the seller. Look for the 'Financing' tag in the listings or ask us on WhatsApp.
